MOT’s

Legally all American Motorhomes however heavy its gross vehicle weight may be! only require a Class 4 MOT (this is the same test as your car). Just like ordinary road vehicles, this takes place every year once they reach the age of three to ensure compliance with road safety standards.

LAS will inspect your motorhome to a much higher standard than is legally required in a class 4 MOT test as some safety issues are not coverd by the test, I.E. has your car got air-brakes?

Our fast MOT preparation service can quickly spot and correct any problems BEFORE your MOT, potentially saving you up to £50 in retest fees.

We’ll check over all the main six areas likely to cause concern during an MOT such as:

• Lights
• Steering and suspension
• Brakes
• Seat belts
• General bodywork condition
• Tyres and wheels

Please note: Long standing causes tyres to perish so we recommend replacing every six years regardless of their apparent ‘condition’ or you may find yourself spending the first day of your next road trip on the hard shoulder changing a tyre.

Once your RV is in good condition, we can present it for MOT at a testing station and get it back to you with all the paperwork as soon as it’s complete.
